Farooq Abdullah’s National Conference to Contest All Seats in J&K, Another Crack in INDIA Bloc

New Delhi: The opposition INDIA bloc faced another jolt as National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Thursday declared that his party would contest all seats in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

In an interview with India Today, Abdullah also hinted at the possibility of the National Conference re-joining the BJP-led NDA in the future.

Speaking to India Today, Farooq Abdullah said the National Conference will not have any alliance with other political parties. He didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to the NDA fold.

The National Conference was in the NDA when it was led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In January, the former CM of Jammu and Kashmir said some opposition parties might form a separate alliance if the seat-sharing formula was not decided in the INDIA Bloc soon.

AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has already announced that his party would contest all the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and Chandigarh. In Delhi, the AAP has offered the Congress just one of the seven Lok Sabha seats.

TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also announced that her party would also contest Lok Sabha polls alone.
