WATCH | Youth Crushed by Bus, Bike Dragged Across 12+ Kilometers in UP

Lucknow: On Friday night, at around 11 pm, a tragic incident occurred near Gaushala on the highway under the Kotwali area of the city. A young man named Vikas, aged 26 and a resident of Mohalla Shanti Nagar, was walking on foot, pushing his punctured bike after having dinner with his friends at a local dhaba. However, a roadways bus from the Fazalganj depot approached from behind and accidentally ran over Vikas, resulting in his immediate death.

As a result of the collision, the bike got stuck under the bus. The bus driver, in a state of panic, continued driving at high speed, dragging the bike for over 12 kilometres.

The bus did not slow down even after entering the city, covering a distance of two kilometres on GT Road. Concerned pedestrians tried to stop the bus, but the driver ignored their pleas.

Fortunately, a few alert policemen witnessed the incident and decided to chase the bus. After a determined pursuit, the police successfully intercepted the bus near Pilua, in the direction of Aligarh. The driver was apprehended, and both the bus and the bike were taken into police custody.

The body of the deceased was subsequently recovered and sent for autopsy.
