First Batch Of AGNIVEERS From J&K Join Army For Training

New Delhi: The first batch of “AGNIVEERS” selected from Jammu & Kashmir under the AGNIPATH scheme, were inducted into the Indian Army and began training as AGNIVEER General Duty, AGNIVEER Technical, AGNIVEER Clerk/Storekeeper Technical, and AGNIVEER Tradesmen.

A total of 200 candidates have been sent from the Army Recruiting Office in Srinagar to roughly 30 training facilities for different regiments of the Indian Army after passing a battery of examinations, including physical, medical, written, and document verification.

The candidates will arrive for training between December 25 and December 30, 2022, and their training will start on January 1.

Due to the coordinated and synchronised efforts of the civil administration led by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and his team, the ongoing assistance of Chinar Corps, and the commitment of the aspirants to aid in nation-building, the selection and despatch of candidates through all stages have been made possible. Despite the congested roads and icy winter weather, candidates have shown zest and enthusiasm in enrolling in their training programs on time and assuming their new roles as “AGNIVEERS” within the following six months.
