FIH Odisha Hockey World Cup 2023: Indian Team Arrives In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of World Cup 2023, India’s men’s hockey team arrived in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday morning.

The Indian men’s hockey team received a warm welcome in Bhubaneswar on their arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA).

Defender Harmanpreet Singh, who has been leading India since the latter half of 2022, will continue to captain the national side at the upcoming FIH World Cup in Odisha.

The accommodation of the Indian players has been arranged in the newly built hotel near the Birsa Munda Stadium.

The teams from other countries will arrive in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela in the first week of January.

The FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 trophy made its way back to Odisha on Sunday after a successful nationwide tour.

The trophy tour kicked off on December 5 with the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik presenting the trophy to Hockey India President, Dr Dilip Tirkey in Bhubaneswar.

As the clock ticks down for the mega event, which will play out from January 13-29 at Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, Indian fans are looking forward to it in much anticipation.
