4 Die in Fire Accident in Drug Manufacturing Unit in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: A flash fire in the manufacturing unit of Indian drugmaker Laurus Labs in Visakhapatanam claimed the lives of four of its employees, declared the authorities of the company on Tuesday.

Another employee injured in the fire accident is undergoing treatment in a hospital. This fire accident occurred on Monday evening.

This drug manufacturing company produces anti-retroviral, hepatitis C, and oncology drugs. Although the company sources claimed that an investigation had been launched to ascertain the reason behind the fire, details of the accident have not been revealed by the company. Laurus sources said this accident had not affected its operations.

This company has over 5,700 employees in its facilities in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
