Indians More Immune Than Chinese, We May Not Need Lockdown: IMA

New Delhi: Speculations of lockdown imposition in India are rife after COVID-19 once again spreading its venom in China.

After a number of Covid-19 variant BF.7 cases reported recently, the Indian Medical Association’s Dr Anil Goyal has given an important statement.

During an interview with the news agency ANI, Anil said that as 95% of the Indian population is vaccinated, the country won’t be facing any lockdown.

“The immunity of our countrymen is stronger than the Chinese, added Dr Goyal. As Per the reports, BF.7 variant is creating havoc in China, Japan, the US, and Brazil. In India, three cases of the subvariant have been found in Gujarat and Odisha. The first victim of the deadly virus was detected in Gujarat,” he said.

With this, speculations of another COVID wave and lockdown have spread like a wildfire in India and around the world.

The central and state governments have come into action to ensure medical preparedness against the threat looming over the world once again.
