Gayatribala Panda To Be Conferred With Kendriya Sahitya Academy Award 2022

Bhubaneswar: Renowned poet and writer Dr Gayatribala Panda has been chosen to be conferred with the prestigious Kendriya Sahitya Academy Award for the year 2022.

Panda will receive the award for her book Daya Nadi, a collection of poems.

Earlier in 2011, she won the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar literary honour in the poetry genre for Gaan, a collection of poems.

In 2000, she won the Odisha state Youth Award for poetry. In 2021 she was chosen for the Times Power Women.

She has to her credit ten collections of poetry (two of which have been translated into Hindi, one into English), three novels and two collections of short stories.

Her poems have been translated into many Indian languages including English and Hindi.

In 2012, she was named as one of the ten best young writers of the country by the English daily Indian Express (Eye Magazine). She was the Writer in residence at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in 2015.

Her poems and stories have been published in numerous journals and anthologies. She is the Editor of Anyaa, a widely-acclaimed Odia literary journal.
