Jayant Chaudhary of RLD Planning to Join NDA, Another Jolt for INDIA Bloc

New Delhi: Marking another tremor for the Opposition’s INDIA block, Jayant Chaudhary of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) is planning to part from the Opposition alliance to join the BJP-led NDA. According to sources, Chaudhary has met a senior BJP leader and his decision will be announced later this month if all goes as per the plan.

Chaudhary has reportedly asked for four Lok Sabha seats in UP – Mathura, Kairana, Baghpat, and Amroha.

As many as 28 Opposition parties had stitched an alliance to counter the Narendra Modi-led BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. But the alliance is in the doldrums following

Bihar CM and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar getting back to the NDA.

Seat sharing has remained the apple of discord among the INDIA allies. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has publicly announced that her party TMC will not give a single seat to the Congress in West Bengal.

Similarly, the AAP has refused to have any alliance with the Congress in Punjab.
