Kanjhawala Horror: Man Accused of Driving Was At Home When Car Dragged Anjali, Claim Police

New Delhi: Deepak Khanna, one of the accused in the Delhi hit-and-run case, was at home when 20-year-old Anjali was hit and dragged for over 12 kilometres, killing her on New Year’s Day, as per sources.

Amit Khanna was driving the car when it ran over Anjali and not his relative Deepak as the accused had claimed during questioning. Amit was allegedly driving without a licence, so Deepak Khanna allegedly took the blame.

Deepak Khanna, Manoj Mittal, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mithun, and Ashutosh (owner of the car) are the six individuals who have so far been taken into custody. This morning, Ashutosh was arrested for attempting to assist the other five individuals in a cover-up. Ankush, the seventh accused, is still on the run.

Ashutosh has been charged with orchestrating a plot to mislead the Delhi Police. Ashutosh was seen receiving car keys from the suspect in recent CCTV footage two hours after the murder.

A 20-year-old woman died in the wee hours of Sunday after she was dragged for around 12 kilometers from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in Delhi after the scooter she was riding collided with a car.
