Khalistan Supporters Protest Outside Indian High Commission in London

London: Khalistan supporters staged a protest outside the Indian High Commission in London on Monday, prompting the deployment of British security forces. Demonstrators were confined to the opposite side of the street from the High Commission.

This protest followed a recent incident in which Indian High Commissioner to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, was prevented from entering a gurdwara in Glasgow by Khalistani extremists. India has reported the incident to the British government and called for strict action against the perpetrators.

The gurdwara where Doraiswami was denied entry issued a statement condemning the disruptive behaviour and described it as an attempt to disrupt the peaceful proceedings of a Sikh place of worship.

UK Minister for the Indo-Pacific, Anne-Marie Trevelyan, expressed concern over the incident, emphasizing the importance of the safety and security of foreign diplomats and the accessibility of places of worship in the UK.

This protest is not the first of its kind, as Khalistan supporters held a similar demonstration outside the Indian High Commission in July, displaying posters featuring images of Vikram Doraiswami and the Consul General of India in Birmingham, Shashank Vikram, promoting anti-India sentiments.
