Khalistani Separatist Leader Amritpal Singh Forwarded To High-Security Dibrugarh Jail

Chandigarh: Khalistani separatist leader Amritpal Singh was apprehended in Punjab’s Moga district on Sunday after turning himself into the police, according to authorities.

Amritpal Singh, who was apprehended following a month-long pursuit, will be transported to the Assamese jail in Dibrugarh, where the majority of his top aides are already detained. Before giving himself in, Amritpal Singh spoke to a crowd at a Gurdwara in the Moga district village of Rode. Amritpal has been hiding away since March 18, when the Punjab Police conducted a significant raid on members of his ‘Waris Punjab De’ organisation.

Amritpal Singh had no other choice but to surrender, the Punjab IGP stated in response to a press conference. According to the cop, an NSA warrant had been issued against Amritpal Singh.

Amritpal Singh was hiding out in Rode, the hometown of Khalistani separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who was killed in Operation Blue Star.
