PM Modi To Flag Off India’s First Water Metro Project In Kochi, CM Calls It ‘Dream Project’

Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the country’s first water metro of Kochi in Kerala on Tuesday.

Reportedly, the country’s first water metro that connects ten small islands surrounding the port city of Kochi in Kerala.

Moreover, the metro project will start with eight electric hybrid boats manufactured by the Cochin Shipyard Limited, said water metro officials.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan termed the Kochi Water Metro as a “dream project” of the state that would accelerate the growth and development of Kochi.

“The world-class #KochiWaterMetro is setting sail! It is Kerala’s dream project connecting 10 islands in and around Kochi. Exciting times are ahead for our transport and tourism sectors!” the CM tweeted.
