Odisha to Drench For Next 2-3 Days Under Impact of Nor’wester

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department on Sunday forecast that certain regions in Odisha are likely to witness rainfall activities in the next two to three days under the impact of nor’westers (Kalbaisakhi).

The nor’wester will be accompanied by strong winds up to 40–50 km/h and hailstorms, according to the regional IMD center in Bhubaneswar. whereas the State will receive rainfalls of up to 7 to 11 cm in a few locations.

Meanwhile, 11 districts in Odisha have received an orange alert from IMD.

Orange Warning: Thunderstorms with lightening and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph with hail storm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightening and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Koraput, Rayagada, Nuapada.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorms with lightening and gusty surface wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Angul, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Gajapati.
