Wrestlers Resume Protest As Delhi Police Denies FIR

New Delhi: Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik as well as Commonwealth Games medalist Vinesh Phogat are among the top international wrestlers from India who have returned to the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to resume their protest against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and its president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Three months after their first protest against WFI and its president, the wrestlers have returned to the protest location.

Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat on Sunday said that they were compelled to return to Jantar Mantar after the Delhi Police failed to file an FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for sexually harassing a number of female wrestlers, including a minor. The wrestlers stated that although an FIR had not yet been filed, they had complained to the Connaught Place police station in New Delhi on Friday.
