The incident involves a man, identified as Atul, from the Katni district, who was captured in the viral video engaging in a horrifying act. In the video, Atul can be seen ruthlessly stripping the feathers off a peacock, resulting in the bird’s tragic demise.

His friend was present during the incident, watching the appalling act unfold. The video was accompanied by a song playing in the background, further intensifying the disturbing nature of the situation. Local officials have confirmed the occurrence of this incident, adding to the growing concern and outcry expressed by the online community.

Meanwhile, the accused, Atul, is currently on the run.

Gaurav Sharma, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), mentioned that the youth was identified based on the bike seen in the viral video, which is registered under the Reethi police station area of the district. When the police team visited Atul’s residence, he was not present, but efforts are underway to apprehend him soon. The DFO emphasized that further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
