More Than 13 lakh People To Do Yoga in Karnataka To Set Guinness World Record

Karnataka: During the ongoing National Youth Festival in Hubballi-Dharwad in Karnataka, an attempt will be made to organise a statewide mega Yogathon on Sunday, to set a new Guinness Book of World Records. On the www.yogathon.com platform, over 8000 educational institutions, 13,000 teachers, and 12,000 students have enrolled thus far.

Over 13 lakh people will do yoga tomorrow, according to Dr Narayanagowda, Karnataka’s minister of sports, setting a new Guinness Book of World Records record. The Yogathon will be officially launched tomorrow morning at Bengaluru’s Kanteerava stadium by Governor Thawarchand Gehlot.

According to Dr Shalini Rajneesh, Additional Chief Secretary for Youth Empowerment and Sports in Karnataka, NSS coordinators are charged with bringing yoga practitioners from National Youth Festival camps to the venue and setting up yoga mats, water, and refreshments for them. Others who have registered on the portal have been issued the necessary instructions to join the mega Yogathon at different venues across the state. Rajasthan holds the Guinness world record for gathering 1.6 lakh participants to do Yoga simultaneously.
