Pet Pit Bull Mauls 7-Yr-Old Boy to Death in Goa; FIR Against Dog Owner

Goa: A seven-year-old boy walking with his mother at Anjuna village in North Goa was attacked and killed by a pit bull on Thursday.

Goa police have registered an FIR against the dog’s owner, Abdul Kader Khwaja, for negligence.

The deceased boy, Prabhas Kalangutkar was walking with his mother when the pit bull, which was not kept on a leash, attacked him. The child was rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where he died during treatment.

His mother works as a house help.

Goa Animal Husbandry Minister Nilkant Halarnkar said he would take up the matter with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to ban certain breeds of ferocious dogs and bring proper guidelines to manage them.
