PM Modi Bats For Global Peace At The G20 Summit

Bali (Indonesia): The annual G20 Summit began in Bali, the capital of Indonesia on November 15, 2022. Over the next two days, world leaders will tackle the issues brought on by the conflict in Ukraine and the Covid-19 pandemic. In his remarks at the G-20 Summit’s Session I on “Food and Energy Security,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the need to find a solution to bring the Ukraine conflict back to the road of a ceasefire and dialogue. Additionally, he urged world leaders that it is our responsibility to establish a new global order for the post-Covid era. Prior to the summit’s official beginning, Indonesian President Joko Widodo greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the meeting location.

The theme chosen by Indonesia when it assumed presidency last year is “Recover Together, Recover Stronger,” and the world leaders will hold three working sessions on food and energy security, digital transformations, and health.

Prime Minister Modi will also be holding bilateral meetings with Presidents Widodo of Indonesia, Pedro Sanchez of Spain, Emmanuel Macron of France, and Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore.

US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi met for three and a half hours in Bali earlier on Monday, the day before the summit, to discuss US-China relations.

Whereas Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to skip the summit, he has sent his Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to speak on behalf of his nation.
