Prithvi Shaw Selfie Row: Sapna Gill, 3 Others Sent To 14-Day Judicial Custody

Mumbai: Social media influencer Sapna Gill and three others have been remanded to 14-day judicial custody in the Prithvi Shaw selfie case by a Mumbai court.

Sapna was one of 8 people arrested by Oshiwara Police after the incident in Mumbai under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (143, 148, 149, 384, 437, 504, 506).

Accused Sapna Gill and her friend Shobhit Thakur had allegedly damaged Prithvi Shaw’s friend’s car during an altercation on the streets of Mumbai after meeting the Indian cricketer inside a nightclub near the Sahar Airport.

In a late-night incident earlier on February 15, Sapna Gill and her friends were involved in a scuffle over a selfie with Prithvi Shaw before things took a nastier turn.

Prithvi Shaw had denied selfies to the group and had them evicted from a hotel where Prithvi Shaw was dining with a friend.

The Oshiwara police had booked eight people on Wednesday, 15 February for attacking cricketer Shaw’s friend’s car outside the hotel in Mumbai. According to the complaint given by Shaw’s friend Ashish Surendra Yadav, first, the car carrying Shaw was attacked with baseball bats, then the accused followed the car and threatened of false cases if money was not given.

Notably, the woman had accused Prithvi Shaw and his friends of physically abusing her outside the 5-star hotel in Mumbai. Gill alleged Prithvi Shaw was carrying a strick in hand when he and his friends assaulted the woman.
