Rahul Gandhi’s Bike of Choice: Which One Does He Own and Why Doesn’t He Ride It?

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently shared a video on his YouTube channel, showcasing his interaction with skilled mechanics at Delhi’s Karol Bagh market. In the video, Gandhi can be seen learning the intricacies of bike servicing and even attempting to repair a bike himself. As he strolled through the market’s narrow lanes, Gandhi greeted passersby and kindly requested them not to chant slogans of support.

During the 12-minute video, the 53-year-old politician mentioned owning a KTM 390 motorcycle, which unfortunately remains unused due to security concerns. When asked about marriage, Gandhi humorously replied with “someday” and playfully inquired about the mechanic’s own plans. Emphasizing the need to empower mechanics in India, he tweeted in Hindi about the importance of strengthening the country’s automobile industry.

This interaction forms part of Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing “Bharat Jodo Yatra” (Unite India Journey), an initiative that began on September 7, 2022, in Kanyakumari and concluded on January 30, 2023, in Srinagar, covering over 4,000 km. The journey aims to listen to the concerns and stories of people from various sections of society, especially those who have not had the opportunity to share their triumphs and struggles.

Notably, in the previous month, Gandhi embarked on a truck ride from Washington to New York, engaging in a candid conversation with an Indian-origin truck driver. This journey followed his earlier truck ride from Delhi to Chandigarh, where he listened to the grievances of truck drivers.

Rahul Gandhi’s approach in the Bharat Jodo Yatra revolves around actively learning by attentively listening to the voices of all Indians, particularly those who have often been unheard. The Congress party has issued a statement highlighting the purpose behind this initiative.
