Richest Reigning Monarch, Sultan Of Brunei To Welcome PM Modi Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Brunei on a two-day visit on Tuesday. It will be the first-ever visit by an Indian PM to the Southeast Asian nation.

PM Modi is visiting Brunei at the invitation of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the second-longest reigning monarch in the world, after the UK’s Queen Elizabeth II.

Hassanal Bolkiah is well known for his immense wealth and extravagant lifestyle. He has world’s largest private luxury car collection, valued at an estimated $5 billion. His net worth is

$30 billion.

The Sultan has over 7,000 luxurious vehicles including 600 Rolls-Royce cars, for which he has made a Guinness World Record. He also owns 450 Ferraris, 380 Bentleys, Porsches, Lamborghinis, Maybachs, Jaguars, BMWs, and McLarens. His 24-carat gold-plated Rolls-Royce Silver Spur II has an open roof and an umbrella, lavishly designed with gold.

Sultan’s Istana Nurul Iman Palace holds the Guinness World Record for being the largest residential palace in the world. It spans over two million square feet and is adorned with 22-carat gold. It has five swimming pools, 1,700 bedrooms, 257 baths and 110 garages. The Sultan has private zoo with 30 Bengal tigers and various bird species. He owns a Boeing 747 aircraft.
