Schools & Colleges Shut In Tamil Nadu & Puducherry As Cyclone Mandous Is Set To Bash Southern Coasts
Chennai: Schools and colleges in several districts of Tamil Nadu would remain closed on Friday, December 9, in view of the fact that the impending cyclonic storm “Mandous” is all set to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai had previously predicted that it was quite possible that Cyclone Mandous would intensify into a severe cyclonic storm on Thursday evening and subsequently weaken on Friday afternoon.

In the meantime, one or two locations are likely to experience light to moderate rain over the next one to three hours in Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukottai, Trichy, Karur, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sivagangai, Salem and Namakkal, and Puducherry, and Karaikal.
