Two Indians Missing After Taiwan Earthquake Safe, Confirms MEA

New Delhi: The two Indian citizens reported missing after Taiwan’s devastating earthquake are safe, confirmed the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). According to the MEA, the Indian authorities have contacted both these persons, and they are safe.

“Initially, we were unable to contact two individuals in Taiwan after the earthquake. However, we have now established contact, and they are safe,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a press conference.

An earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale struck Taiwan on Wednesday killing at least 10 people.

Around 18 people are still missing after the quake. Taiwanese rescuers are racing against time to rescue them. Of these 18 missing people, six are missing on a hiking trail.
