Vistara to Cease Operations on November 11: What Will Happen to Your Bookings?

New Delhi: Vistara Airlines will cease operations under its brand on November 11, as it fully integrates with Air India starting November 12. This marks the end of a nearly two-year merger process between the two airlines.

Vistara, a joint venture of Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, will see its operations unified with Air India, which is also owned by Tata Group. Singapore Airlines will retain a 25.1% stake in the newly consolidated Air India following the merger, with foreign direct investment (FDI) approval from the Indian government.

From September 3, Vistara will stop accepting bookings for flights beyond November 11. All future flights will be handled by Air India, with passengers redirected to Air India’s booking system.

“Vistara will continue normal operations until November 11, 2024,” the airline stated. After this date, Vistara’s aircraft and crew will transition to Air India, and Vistara’s routes will be incorporated into Air India’s network.

Passengers with bookings on Vistara after November 12 will automatically transition to Air India flights. While flight numbers will change, schedules, aircraft and crews will remain largely unchanged until early 2025. The airlines have also developed an FAQ section to help passengers navigate this transition.
