100-Yr-Old Woman Votes in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: One 100-year-old woman named Kamuben Lalabhai Patel came out of her home to cast her vote on Thursday in Umargam during the first phase polling of the Gujarat Assembly elections.

According to sources, senior citizens are showing much interest to cast their votes in Gujarat. During the first phase of polling which is underway in Gujarat, many senior citizens forgot their physical discomfort and stepped out to cast their votes.

As per the Election Commission, Gujarat has a total of 9.8 lakh senior citizen voters.

The first phase of polling in Gujarat is continuing in 89 constituencies of 19 districts spread over Kutch, Saurashtra and South Gujarat regions.

A total of 2,39,76,670 voters are to cast their votes today in Gujarat to decide the fate of 788 candidates who are in the fray for the first phase.
