ASI of CRPF Shoots Self at IB Director’s House in Delhi

New Delhi: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at the residence of the director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in Delhi. The 53-year-old cop shot himself at the Tughlaq Road residence of the IB top brass on Friday.

The deceased CRPF personnel was identified as Rajbir Kumar. He allegedly shot two rounds at himself from his service rifle AK-47 at around 4 pm on Friday. He was part of the security at the IB director’s residence. No suicide note was found on the spot.

As per reports, Rajbir Kumar was on leave for the past few days. He had joined duty on Friday. An investigation is on to ascertain the reason behind his drastic step.

The victim’s family was informed about the death of Rajbir Kumar. Inquest proceedings under CrPC section 174 have been initiated.
