12 Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Murder in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: Twelve persons were sentenced to life imprisonment for a murder case in 2017 at old Balasore.  The Court of District and Sessions Judge has made the decision in connection with the case of murder that had happened inside a barber shop in the city.

Apart from sentencing them to imprisonment for life, the court also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on each of them.

Another accused in the case, identified as Abhijit Singh, was acquitted by the court for lack of evidence against him.

One Jayant Das of Gabagaon was brutally murdered inside a barber shop in the Old Balasore locality in 2017 over some past enmity.
