16-Yr-Old Gives Birth in School Toilet in Andhra, Newborn Dies

Amravati: An intermediate student gave birth to a baby in the school bathroom at a government institution in Kothapatanam, Andhra Pradesh, where. The newborn died after birth.

The 16-year-old student is a student of the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Kothapatanam. She had joined the school on June 19. The school authorities and teachers were unaware of her pregnancy.

On Wednesday, she went to the bathroom during school hours and gave birth to a baby. Although she was experiencing labor pains, she did not inform anyone.

When the student did not return from the toilet to class for long, her classmates and teachers went to check on her in the bathroom. They found her in a critical condition and sought medical help.

The student was rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ongole. The newborn died after some time.
