29 Dead in Major Fire Accident in a China Hospital

At least 29 persons died when a major fire accident occurred at the inpatient department of a hospital in China’s capital Beijing.

According to reports, the fire broke out at around 12:57 pm (04:57 GMT). It was extinguished at around 13:33 pm.

A total of 71 people were evacuated from the inferno. According to Beijing Daily, till 6 pm (10:00 GMT), 21 of the injured had died. later eight more persons died in hospital.

Hospital fires are rare in China, and the cause of the blaze is still being investigated. In the past Chinese netizens had mocked when a fire accident had occurred at Serum Institute during the COVID pandemic.
