2nd Largest Ashoka Stambh At Army AD College in Gopalpur Soon

Berhampur: Second largest Ashoka Stambh in the country will be soon installed at the Army Air Defence College in Gopalpur of Odisha’s Ganjam district. It will be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu.

Sculptor Rajkumar Behera of Berhampur and his team have constructed the pillar. At least 12 artists took 40 days to construct the sculpture. A total of Rs 3 lakh was spent on the construction work.

The sculpture is said to be built with glass fibre and painted in bronze colour.

The height of the sculpture is 13 feet and it is 6.1 feet in width. The largest Ashoka Stambh, installed on the roof of the new Parliament building in New Delhi is 21 feet in height.
