5 Black-marketers of Hockey World Cup ticket Arrested in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Five persons involved in black-marketing tickets for the Hockey World Cup matches continuing in Odisha were arrested by personnel of Sahid Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar. They were selling the tickets at extremely high prices through social media.

According to police sources, the arrested persons were found to be black-marketing tickets for the India-Wales match. They had advertised their intention to sell the tickets at almost ten times the rate of their original price.

The black-marketers had quoted the Rs 100 worth ticket at Rs 1000 or Rs 1200. The Rs 200 worth of tickets was being sold by them at Rs 2000, while the Rs 5000 ticket was available at Rs 5000.

The black-marketers were contacting interested customers through social media chats. They were promising to hand over the ticket, near the stadium, sources added.

Police are interrogating the arrested persons to track down other persons involved in the racket.
