8 Arrested for Attacking Rationalists in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Eight traditionalists were arrested by Kharavela Nagar Police today on charges of attacking rationalists yesterday.

On November 8 rationalists organized a public feast during the Lunar eclipse at Lohia Academy in Bhubaneswar . Feeling offended by it, traditionalists had attacked the rationalists. They also accused the police of protecting the rationalists.

“Police have detained those who opposed rationalists. But they have not taken any action against those who attacked Hinduism. We even met the DGP on November 6, requesting action against rationalists without any avail.  If no stringent action is taken against those anti-Hindus, we would intensify our agitation and gherao the police station,” said Swarup Kar, a traditionalist agitator.
