Aged Priest Tied Up and Beaten to Death in Mathura

Mathura: In Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, a 75-year-old priest was beaten to death by unidentified assailants while his hands and legs were tied up. The deceased was identified as Haridas Maharaj.

The assailants also hit his head with bricks, resulting in his death. Haridas Maharaj was found dead in his cottage within the temple premises. A devotee discovered the lifeless body of the priest.

The Police stated that the priest’s hands and feet were tied with a rope, and there were visible marks of brick strikes on his head and face, resulting in profuse bleeding and his subsequent death.

He further added that the crime scene had been secured, and evidence had been collected for investigation purposes.
