Airport ‘Terminal-In-A-Garden’ in Garden City of Bengaluru  

Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport today will have a first-of-its-kind green terminal. At this terminal, air travelers will feel like walking in a lush green garden. It is designed as a tribute to the garden city of Bengaluru. This unique airport terminal will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi today.

This innovative environment-friendly airport terminal has ample greenery within and outside. Terminal-2 (T-2) of Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport has been transformed as per the concept of a “Terminal-in-a-garden”. This is the first of its kind experimentation in the country.

This unusual lush green terminal is spread over a total area of 2,55,645 square meters. It has 22 contact gates and nine gates for customs hand baggage screening. The seating capacity of its gate lounge can accommodate 5,953 persons.

This new terminal was built at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore. It is an architectural wonder to provide the feel of a walk in the garden for air travelers.

The guiding principles of the unique architecture of this air terminal are the provision of a garden-like feeling, sustainability, technology, and innovation. It will also showcase the art and culture of Karnataka.
