Asian Games Cricket Final: India Win Gold as Match Called off Due to Rain

New Delhi: The Gold medal match between India and Afghanistan was called off due to rain and India won the gold medal. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side were declared the winners due to their higher seeding.

Opting to bowl first, India showed a dominant approach and kept on scalping wickets at regular intervals. Before the halt, Afghanistan’s score read at 112/5 in 18.2 overs with Shahidullah Kamal (49*) and Gulbadin Naib (27*) standing unbeaten at the crease. For India, Arshdeep Singh, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shivam Dube and Ravi Bishnoi scalped one wicket each.
