Banking Assistant In Vigilance Net In Bhawanipatna

Bhawanipatna: Odisha Vigilance officials on Monday launched simultaneous house searches at the properties belong a banking assistant, in connection with a case of acquisition and possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The accused has been identified as Pradeep Kumar Chandrakar, banking assistant at the Bhawanipatna Central Cooperative Bank, Komna Branch, in Nuapada district.

On the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by the accused, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by DSPs, three Inspectors, and other staff of the Odisha Vigilance on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna.

Following this, searches were underway at the following locations:

• A residential double-storied house of Chandrakar situated at village Beltukuri, Nuapada district.
• Another double-storied building situated over a plinth area of approx 3000 sqft at Beltukuri, Nuapada district.
• One under-construction house over a plinth area of approx. 3000 sqft at Beltukuri, Nuapada district.
• The office room of Pradeep Kumar Chandrakar at Bhawanipatna Central Cooperative Bank, Komna.

The searches are underway and a further report is awaited.
