Biharsharif Violence: Economic Offence Unit Arrests 5 Persons

Patna: Economic Offence Unit (EOU) in Bihar has arrested five persons in a case related to Biharsharif violence that erupted on Ramnavmi. Talking to reporters the Additional Director General of Police JS Gangwar said these persons have hatched a conspiracy to provoke violence through social media.

The EOU has lodged FIRs against 15 people. Raids are being conducted to nab the remaining 10 people. The FIR was lodged on the basis of the report submitted by EOU which visited violence-hit areas of Biharsharif. One person was killed and several injured during the Ramnavmi violence.

Earlier, Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar appealed to people for maintaining communal harmony. Mr. Kumar said, troublemakers, will not be spared.

It is pertinent to note that an explosion was reported from the Mochi Tola area of Sasaram town in Bihar’s Rohtas district on Monday morning. This blast was two days after a bomb explosion injured six people in Sasaram on the day of Ram Navami on March 30.
