Birsa Munda Stadium to Host 13th Hockey India Sub-junior National Championships in May

Bhubaneswar: The Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, Odisha is all set to host the 13th Hockey India Sub-junior National Championship in May. It is the largest-seated outdoor hockey stadium in the world.

The 13th Hockey India Sub-junior Women’s National Championship 2023 will be held in this stadium from May 4 to May 14. It will be followed by the 13th Hockey India Sub-junior Men’s National Championship 2023 at the same stadium from May 18 to 28.

Recently, the matches of the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 were played in the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium. FIH Hockey Men’s Pro League 2022-2023 was alsoplayed in this stadium in Rourkela.

This stadium boasts of world-class facilities including newly-laid Astroturf, practice pitches and a seating capacity of over 20,000 spectators. Matches can be played here under the state-of-the-art floodlights.
