IMD Predicts Thunderstorm Warning For These Odisha Districts Today

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted thunderstorms in several districts of Odisha today. The weather office has also issued a yellow warning for these districts.

As per the agency, “Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Gajapati, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts,”

“Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Angul and Dhenkanal,” it added.

Occasional rain and hailstorms are also likely in some places. Heavy rainfall and hail will continue till May 6 in most of the districts in Odisha.
