IMD Predicts Rain, Thunderstorm In These Odisha Districts Today

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by light rain at several places of the state.

As per the weather agency, a yellow warning for thunderstorms in more than a few districts of Odisha till Wednesday.

“Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangapur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts today,” said IMD said in a bulletin.

The IMD further said that there is unlikely to be any major change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days. It is likely to be 42°C or more at a few places during the next five days in some districts of interior Odisha, such as Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh.

At the same time, the IMD said that hot and discomfort weather is very likely to prevail in most Odisha districts.
