Odisha: TPCODL Urges Responsible Electricity Use Amid Peak Summer Demand

Bhubaneswar: As Odisha braces for the peak summer season, efficient electricity usage becomes crucial. TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a collaboration between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, acknowledges the challenges posed by increased power demand during this time.

The surge in demand often leads to issues like fuse blowing, cable failures, and transformer overloading, causing power interruptions and inconvenience. Unauthorized hooking exacerbates these challenges, straining the electrical network and creating safety hazards.

TPCODL emphasizes that unauthorized hooking is illegal under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act, 1956, and poses risks to public safety while causing losses to the community.

In response, TPCODL urges consumers to exercise prudence and responsibility in their electricity consumption. Prioritizing essential usage, avoiding wastage, and embracing energy-efficient practices can alleviate pressure on the grid.

Consumers are appealed to refrain from unauthorized electricity-related activities and join hands in upholding regulations to safeguard the community’s well-being. TPCODL calls for cooperation to ensure a stable power supply for all.
