BJD Youth Leader Murdered in Ganjam District

Berhampur: Unidentified armed miscreants hacked a youth BJD leader of Bariguda village under Dharakote police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Anil Mohanty. According to reports, this murder happened at a secluded spot in the locality. The victim was attacked while he was returning home from a nearby village on a scooter.

Locals spotted the body in a pool of blood and informed his family members. The murder weapons were left behind by the assailants at the spot.

Police seized the body for post-mortem and started an investigation to track down the culprits.

The reason behind the murder has not been ascertained. It is suspected that past enmity over some political dispute during the last panchayat polls may be the reason. , sources said.
