Bodies of 4 Drowned Students Fished Out from Kuakhai River

Bhubaneswar: Bodies of four students who died of drowning in the Kuakhai river at Dhabalahar under Balianta police limits on outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday were recovered by the Fire Services personnel.

Two bodies were recovered on Tuesday while the rest two were found on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Aryan Mishra of Jamshedpur, Kumar Avinash of Cuttack, Rohit Parida of Balasore and Prateek Dhalasamanta of Balikuda.

According to reports, a group of eight students had come to the river to have a bath. Four of them were swept away by the current of the river, causing their untimely deaths.

A team of local fire services personnel carried out a search operation at the mishap site on Tuesday afternoon and they recovered two bodies. The search operation stopped after evening was resumed on Wednesday morning with the recovery of two more bodies.
