Bus Rams Parked Truck in Jajpur Dist; One Dead, Over 20 Injured

Jajpur: One person was killed and around 20 others were injured when a Bhubaneswar-bound bus rammed a truck near Jaraka Square on NH16 in Jajpur district on Monday morning. Two of the injured were reported to be in serious condition. According to reports, the bus with 50 passengers travelling from Baripada to Bhubaneswar hit a fertilizer-laden truck parked by the side of the road at around 3 am.

The helper of the bus died on the spot.

The critically injured were admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The others with minor injuries were treated at Dharmasala community health centre.

Dharmasahla police seized both the vehicles and have initiated an investigation.
