Chest Measurement Rule for Females for Haryana Forest Dept Recruitment Draws Flak

Chandigarh: The new rule to measure women’s chests for recruitment to posts in the forest department in Haryana has sparked a controversy. Senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala termed it a “Tughlaqi decree”.

The Haryana government recently issued an order stating physical measurement tests of CET candidates will start from July 12. It has been decided to measure the chest of female candidates in the physical measurement test for the posts of Forest Ranger, Deputy Forest Ranger, and Forester.

The senior Congress leader demanded the rule to be stuck down at the earliest.

Referring to the order dated July 7, Surjewala said, “Why this cruel, childish, and stupid condition in the recruitment of Forest Ranger and Deputy Ranger to humiliate the daughters of Haryana? We demand that Khattar Saheb should immediately apologize to the daughters of Haryana and withdraw this condition.”

Chairman of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission Bhopal Singh Khatri said that such a test would be done. Only lady doctors and lady coaches will be used.
