China Starts Shrugging Off Pakistan; Closes Down Consular Section of its Embassy in Islamabad

China closed down the consular section of its embassy in Pakistan temporarily due to “technical issues”. Some days back China had advised its citizens in Pakistan to be cautious about the deteriorating security situation.

The Chinese embassy in Pakistan announced the closure of its consular section on its website. But the reason behind the closure as well as till when it will remain shut, was not declared in detail.

“Due to technical issues, the consular section of the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad will be temporarily closed from February 13, 2023, until further notice,” the notice from the Chinese embassy said.
