Cow Vigilantes Lynch Man Alleging Him to be Carrying Beef in Bihar; 3 Arrested

Patna: A 56-year-old man was allegedly lynched in Bihar’s Saran district by a group of cow vigilantes, who suspected that he was carrying beef. Three people have so far been arrested in this case of lynching.

According to reports, a sarpanch named Sushil Singh was among the arrested persons. The other two were identified as villagers Ravi Sah and Ujjwal Sharma.

The deceased was identified as Naseem Quereshi. He was a resident of Hasanpur village of Siwan district. It is yet to be confirmed whether any beef was found in his possession or not

This lynching occurred on Tuesday when Naseem and his nephew Firoz Qureshi were on their way to Jogia village in Saran district. A mob stopped them at Jogia village, alleging that they were carrying beef in a bag. While Firoz managed to run away, Naseem was beaten to death.

Naseem was handed over to police in extremely critical condition. He was rushed to a government hospital but died during treatment.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab other suspects involved in the case.
