Cricket Betting Racket Busted in Khariar Road; 5 Held

Nuapada: Police have busted an online IPL cricket betting racket in Khariar Road in Odisha’s Nuapada district. The cops have also arrested five persons in this connection.

According to reports, the accused persons hail from the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh. The accused were operating the betting racket from a rented house.

Reportedly, during night patrolling on an intervening night yesterday, a team of police raided a house behind Ram Mandir in Khariar Road town leading to the busting of an online IPL cricket betting racket. Following the raid, police arrested five persons belonging to the Raipur, Bematara, and Raj Nandgaon districts of neighboring Chhattisgarh.

The cops also seized 21 mobile phones, 4 laptops, 15 ATM cards of different banks, 10 checkbooks of different banks, 5 passbooks from different banks, one note having handwritten details of accounting, one Aadhar Card, one Driving Licence, etc during the raid.

Further investigation is underway.
