Crores of Rupees Found on Tree & Autorickshaw in Poll-Bound Karnataka

Bengaluru: When it is election time money can literally grow on trees.

The Income Tax department seized one crore rupees hidden in a box placed on a mango tree at the house of Subramania Rai in Karnataka’s Mysore on Wednesday. He is the brother of Congress’s Puttur candidate Ashok Kumar Rai.

The Bengaluru Police caught two men with Rs 1 crore unaccounted from an auto near the City Market area on April 13.

Karnataka goes to polls on May 10 and results will be out on May 13.
