Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express Escapes Major Accident in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express narrowly escaped a major accident at Jharkhand’s Bokaro after a tractor crashed the railway gate near Bhojudih station, while the train was passing through.

According to railway sources, the incident occurred at the Santhaldih railway crossing on Tuesday evening. The tractor got stuck between the railway track and the gate.

According to railway authorities, a tractor crashed the railway gate when it was closing at the Santhaldih railway crossing of the Bhojudih station in Bokaro district. But the driver of the Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express applied the brakes in time to stop the train, averting any major accident. The incident occurred around 5 pm on Tuesday. Because of it the train was delayed by about 45 minutes.

The accident causing tractor was seized and an FIR lodged at the police station concerned. The tractor driver absconded. The concerned gate man was suspended.

The incident occurred barely days after the triple train accident near the Bahanaga Bazar station in Odisha’s Balasore district, which claimed 288 lives.
